My Story
I'm Emilia, a travel and lifestyle writer currently based in London. I originally trained as a broadcast journalist, but quickly realised that I enjoyed writing far more than presenting. I started my travel writing journey at the Press Association, the UK's leading newswire, before branching out as a freelancer. I've had work published in local and national newspapers including The Independent and The Sunday Times, plus digital magazines including Citizen Femme and Love Exploring.
My writing has taken me to some truly wonderful destinations and has given me the opportunity to experience some of the world's most luxurious and unique hotels. I've partied at 35,000 feet with 20 drag queens on Virgin Atlantic's World Pride flight, tracked manta rays across the Indian Ocean, helped the Sami people of Northern Norway look after their prized reindeer and sipped my way across Santorini in search of the best Greek wine. It's (mostly) been a complete joy.
It's important to me that I travel in a way that heroes rather than harms the natural environment.
When choosing destinations and brands to work with, my focus is always on sustainability, conservation and social responsibility.
